Joining the workshop in WA as the speakers this year, are two of Australia's most accomplished filmmakers - Daniel Nettheim and Richard Todd where they will reveal their directing techniques, share advice on best practice and give participants guidance on individual projects.
Daniel Nettheim is an accomplished director who divides his time between Australia and the UK. His recent UK television work includes the Netflix series Safe, Doctor Who, Broadchurch, Humans - which was nominated for Best Drama Series at the 2016 BAFTA Television Awards; Ripper Street, Line of Duty, Whitechapel, and Glue - on which he was series and set-up director. In Australia, Daniel’s recent credits include Jack Irish, Harrow and the latest series of Secret City. Recent US credits include the third series of Ash Vs. Evil Dead and Hunters for the Syfy Channel and producers Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) and Natalie Chaidez (Heroes).
Richard Todd is the director of the award winning Aquarius Productions, that produces provocative factual programming, specialising in character driven, social issues, and conservation documentaries that have a positive impact on people, society and the environment. Richard has directed several notable documentary projects such as Frackman and most recently, Dying to Live which has been selected at CinefestOz this year.
The two-day event will be moderated by Australian Director’s Guild CEO, Kingston Anderson and WA Chapter Head, Cathy Henkel. There will also be an opportunity to meet with a leading CinefestOZ guest director.
Ten directors will be selected by an independent assessor panel to participate in this two-day workshop which consists of a series of presentations, workshop sessions, screenings and discussions.

ELIGIBILITY POINTS TO MEET:
You must be an Australian resident. Please note that even though the program is open for all Australian resident to apply, however, it is more favorable for directors residing in WA.
You must be able to travel to Busselton (WA) for the two day workshop, 22 - 23 August 2018 and make your own travel arrangements, including accommodation. Accommodation options will be provided.
It is FREE to apply, but you are obliged to cover the workshop fee of $50 (for ADG Members) / $75 (for non ADG Members) if your application is successful. The payment must be done by contacting the ADG office (P: 02 9555 7045 / E: firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday, 17 August 2018.
You will need to provide an outline of a project that you are developing that will be benefit from advice and guidance from a mentor through The Director's Intensive - including: project title, genre, target audience, one line synopsis, one paragraph synopsis and (if available) link to relevant clip / reel to support your pitch.
You are required to provide your current directorial CV and to provide links of sample of your past works as part of your application.
