With a career spanning more than 55 years, Michael Apted has helmed an extensive list of feature films and documentaries including: Coal Miner’s Daughter, Gorillas in the Mist, The World is Not Enough, Enigma, Amazing Grace, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Among Apted's most widely recognised documentary directorial achievements are his internationally acclaimed sequels based on the original Seven UP! documentary - 7 Plus Seven, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, and currently filming 63UP - which have followed the lives of 14 Britons every seven years. Apted also served three terms as President of the Directors Guild of America.
